My Modern Victorian Heart

While I always admire that cool spare design you see in modern  mags my heart beats faster with color and detail. Couple that with a nod to the modern with somewhat cleaner lines and progressive
 technique and you get ...

 My Modern Victorian Heart.
 Coming this Fall.

Start gathering those silks, satins and velvets.. you are going to love this!

I have a lot of thoughts on color vs. cool spare design that I hope to share with you when we meet (which I am sure we will because I LOVE your stash from your Go Me! post). The most valuable point I have to make on living with lots of color is that to me nothing says "modern" more than the juxtaposition of strong colors against natural elements that have texture, such as wood, stone, etc. If the natural elements are spare in design and line, then the color variety can be riotous, if not then the color needs to remain more solid ( not as much variety) and do the job of "holding down the fort", if you will. Looking forward to meeting you and the whole group, Carolina
